The summary outlines the key issues that must be addressed to begin the process of transforming Britain's tower blocks. They are drawn from 'Streets in the Sky', the first report of the Sustainable Tower Blocks Initiative, published in February 2000.
The STBI is committed to working with residents, practitioners and policy-makers to make tower blocks better and more sustainable places to live. The task now is to bring together people from across different fields who realise the potential of high-rise housing. We can then start developing solutions and practical examples of how tower blocks can be made to work.
